Some of the juiciest fall-off-the-bone ribs are located here. Ribs, greens, slaw. How can you go wrong? Well, my fat ass thought I needed some wings to top it all off, and you know what? The wings were fire too! The wings were ginormous - I felt like was eating wings off a baby dinosaur, they were some big boy wings. My mouth is watering again thinking about it.

Definitely one of the best local finds in Memphis. I would definitely come back for more Memphis Style Dry Rub Ribs, Mac & Cheese and BBQ Beans. If this is your first time here you should definitely order just that. Enjoy and to be continued...banana pudding

Central BBQ is a busy, buzzing spot — thanks in part to its prime location near the Civil Rights Museum. Expect a bit of a wait to order in, but honestly, you’ll need that time to scout out a table, grab a drink, and settle in. I went with the starter sampler and wow — this tray was loaded. If I had to rank the hits: 1. Pulled pork sandwich 2. BBQ Nachos 3. Smoked wings 4. Sausage Massive portions across the board, and the sandwich sizes looked just right for most appetites. The venue itself is big — lots of space and seating — and the vibe feels more like a Texas BBQ joint than some of the other Memphis spots I’ve visited, which gives it a broad, approachable feel. Delicious food, unbeatable location, great service, and fair prices. Definitely worth the stop — especially if you’re coming from or heading to the museum next door.

I was told that Memphis has some of the best BBQ hands down, and that is the TRUTH! The food here was so good it didn't even need sauce. The ribs were definitely my favorite. The best part of it all was the banana pudding. I've never had a banana pudding like theirs. Makes me sad I live so far away.

I had just finished visiting the Pyramid of Sea Pro Bass in Memphis and had to walk back to my hotel, but I didn't feel like walking, so I called an Uber. Good choice, the very nice driver told me about this super BBQ restaurant in Memphis very close to my hotel. It was a big surprise for me because when I travel I always choose restaurants and meticulously plan all the places to eat and to my surprise I did not know this restaurant. Of course I ordered the Memphis-style pork ribs and my wife the pulled pork sandwich, but first we had a small basket of nachos with cheddar, jalapeno and pulled pork. The food was delicious, well cooked and generously seasoned. The restaurant was cozy, the staff friendly, and even the owner was very friendly - he was thrilled that I had come from Italy to eat at his restaurant.

This is a classic BBQ joint. There's nothing fancy about it, it's just really good BBQ. I had the pork, which was amazing. The sides were delicious. As a bonus, it's right next to The Lorraine Motel, so you can check out a historic site as well.

Place was absolutely so darn good. Coming from Texas I'm a spoiled with great BBQ. This place came highly recommended so wanted to check it out. I ended getting a three meat plate. Pulled Chicken, sausage, and brisket. Honestly the chicken and sausage was absolutely so darn good. I used the mild BBQ sauce which I absolutely loved. I didn't care too much for the spicy BBQ sauce. The brisket Honestly was absolutely horrible. Sliced very thin, fatty, and was still a little tough. I'd say pass on the brisket and go after the pork which Memphis is known for. I would absolutely come back. As a matter a face the next day I ended up traveling to Nashville and ate at Central BBQ there which was amazing as well.

Memphis has some amazing barbecue joints. This is one of them. I ordered the ribs. They had been smoked over hickory and featured a Memphis-style dry rub. They were tender and delicious. The sides were good too, but you'll come here for the barbecue. And I'll be going back for the barbecue. Also, while you're here be sure to visit the Lorraine Motel and National Civil Rights Museum across the street.
